Even in challenging times, our mission continues: to Stop Abuse For Everyone.
You may want to make a difference in a big way - provide safe shelter for children, give medical care to family violence survivors, or counseling services for trauma victims. But maybe your cash flow is limited by lifestyle expenses, education costs, or medical needs to accomplish what you want.
SAFE offers creative ways to increase your impact, without cutting into your cash. It's called planned giving.
The Power of a Simple Gift
One of the easiest and most common ways for you to support The SAFE Alliance is with a gift of cash. Cash can be used to support our work in the form of:
An outright gift. By making a cash gift by check, credit card or money order today, you enable us to meet our most urgent needs and carry out our mission on a daily basis. You will have the opportunity to see your generosity in action and will also receive a federal income tax charitable deduction, when you itemize. DONATE CASH
A payable on death (POD) account. A POD bank account or certificate of deposit names one or more persons or charities as the beneficiary of all funds once you, the account owner, pass away. The beneficiary you name has no rights to the funds until after your lifetime. Until that time, you remain in control and are free to use the money in the bank account, change the beneficiary or close the account.
There are several other ways to make cash donations as part of the gift options below.
Donating crypto-currency is another creative way to give to SAFE. Donating cryptocurrency is a non-taxable event, meaning you do not owe capital gains tax on the appreciated amount and can deduct it on your taxes. This makes Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency donations one of the most tax-efficient ways to support your favorite cause. You can donate Bitcoin, Ethereum, ChainLink, Litecoin, and more.
Designating SAFE as a beneficiary in your will or trust (sometimes called a bequest) is a simple way to commit to our cause, and it will not affect your cash flow during your lifetime. In addition, its easy to revoke this type of gift if your situation or goals change. MORE ABOUT BEQUESTS
Naming SAFE as the beneficiary of your reitrement plan, financial account, or annuity is another easy way to help further SAFE's mission. You can continue to benefit from these assets during your lifetime. A beneficiary designation may also be changed at any time. LEARN MORE
If you own securities such as stocks or mutual funds that you no longer need or wish to sell, a gift of these assets is another way that you can benefit us without impacting your cash flow. You also may benefit from capital gains tax avoidance by giving rather than selling these assets. LEARN MORE
